Whats new for 2014-15?

Welcome to Bemidji Youth Hockey and the 2014-15 hockey season. We are very excited to have your child be a part of BYHA and learning the great game of hockey. Thanks in advance for letting all of us at BYHA be a part of providing a great hockey experience for your child.

There are a few changes for this upcoming season for those returning and for new parents to be aware of. Here are some key things to be aware of:

  1. $50 late fee – Be sure you registered on or before September 15th. This helps us greatly with scheduling and planning for teams and ice times. Anyone who registers after this date will be assessed a $50.00 late fee.

  2. October Hockey – In the past there was a separate registration and fee for the optional pre-season October Hockey sessions. This year that has changed. All kids are automatically registered in pre-season October hockey with your normal BYHA registration and there is no additional fees. Anyone registered should attend their level’s sessions  in October.

  3. Fundraising – This year fundraising will look different. From the feedback we have received the BYHA Board has decided to eliminate the Calendar Program and replace with a raffle fundraiser. Each player will be responsible for selling twenty, $20.00 raffle tickets to participate. There will be no buyout, everyone will be expected to sell them. You can write your own name on them if you choose but each player will be required to participate.

  4. Mites/Termites and 8U – For those new to hockey with a young child,  be sure you attend the parent meeting before the season to get up to speed with BYHA. If you have questions from what equipment to wear to what age group to attend, you can get a lot of the answers on our BYHA website under the Mite/Termite page found under the “Teams” tab. Also, you will find the age groups reps contact information you can email or call with any questions.

Thank you very much for registering and being a part of BYHA. Should you have any questions or concerns this upcoming season do not hesitate to contact your Hockey Development Committee or a Board Member.

See you at the Rink!
