Frequently Asked Questions;

 What is a gate fee and when does it need to be paid?

 Instead of charging an admission fee per person, we charge a $20 gate fee per rostered player. This way there is no hassle of purchasing passes or having a check in at the door. All your family members can come with no worry of the admission fee. This fee needs to be paid at team check in or prior.

How many games will we play? 

 We have always tried to guarantee 4 games of play over the weekend. The number of teams participating in the tournament will determine how early we have to start on Friday and how late we need to go into Sunday in order to get in the 4 games. We try to accommodate teams that have to travel further, but that may not always be possible. Please make parents aware of this ahead of time!!

Where are the rinks located?

  You can find this by clicking on "Bemidji Arenas" on our website home page.

We will make every effort to have the schedule available on-line 2 weeks prior to the tournament. Depending on when the tournament fills up, it could be earlier or later than this (you know how it goes!!). The contact person listed on the registration will be e-mailed information about the weekend, so make sure this address is correct! It can then be forwarded to the team.

 Players from MN do NOT need to bring their birth certificates. You should bring your tournament book and coaches certification card. Teams outside MN and in Canada will need birth certificates or passports for check-in.

 What level do we play in?

 Because our tournaments are sanctioned through MN Hockey, we are required to follow their guidelines. The age guidelines are as follows for the 2011/2012 hockey season (players must be born on or after the stated birth date):

Mite (July 1, 2002) Youth age 9 and under.

Squirt (July 1, 2000) Youth ages 9 and 10.

Peewee (July 1, 1998) Youth ages 11 and 12.

Bantam (July 1, 1996) Youth ages 13 and 14.

10U (July 1, 2000) Girls ages 9 and 10.

12U (July 1, 1998) Girls ages 11 and 12.

 When do you need our roster and where do we send it to?

We need the roster at least 2 weeks prior to the start of the tournament. It can be e-mailed to our tournament director or the contact person listed on our registration page for your particular tournament. It can also be mailed to BYHA, P.O. Box 1141, Bemidji, MN 56619.

When will we get the schedule for the tournament and other information about the weekend?
