The Bemidji Bantam AA team completed a four game sweep for the 2017 George Pelawa Memorial championship. They opened the tourney on Friday vs. the Grand Forks Sugarkings with a ceremonial puck drop from Frank and Winnie Pelawa. The game went down to the wire with Bemidji scoring the game winner with 25 seconds left in the 3rd for a 3-2 win. Saturday morning they started fast and didn't let up routing New Ulm/Sleepy Eye 9-1. In the afternoon the boys took down St. Cloud with a 5-2 win to face Roseau on Sunday afternoon. Roseau struck first in the championship game, but Bemidji came back with three unanswered goals to grind out a 3-1 win.
In the third place game on Sunday, Westonka topped St. Cloud 7-4.
