Regular Season

Welcome to 2024-2025 Player Registration!

Welcome to the Bemidji Youth Hockey family and the 2024-2025 hockey season!

This is a very exciting time in Bemidji Hockey, and this season promises to be our best one yet!  We are thrilled that you and your family have chosen BYHA and we are working hard to continually improve to be better each and every season. This season, we are particularly focused on communication, transparency, and taking our association to the next level. To that end, we have a new feature on our home page, a suggestion and feedback box we hope our members will use to keep us updated on any issues or suggestions that might arise. We also have been working on our website to have it be more informative and easy to navigate, please check it out! Finally and perhaps the biggest change in this next season is the addition of our new hockey director, Dillon Eichstadt. We hired a hockey director to help with our hockey, financial, and cultural development of BYHA. Dillon has been hard at work since coming on board in July, and he can be reached at deichstadt@bemidjiyouthhockey.org.

There are a few important items to note for this upcoming season for those returning and new parents, here are some key things to be aware of:

  1. Fall Hockey -  we offer both September Hockey program and an October hockey session. Those registrations are live and linked on the home page of our website.
  2. Fundraising – each player will be responsible for selling twenty raffle tickets at $20.00 each in order to participate (family maximum of 40 raffle tickets). There will be no buyout, everyone will be expected to sell them. You can write your own name on them to purchase them if you choose, but each player will be required to participate.
  3. Mites/Termites/8U/6U – For those new to hockey with a young child, be sure you attend the parent meeting before the season to get up to speed with BYHA. If you have questions about what equipment to wear, what age group to attend, or anything else you can get a lot of the answers on our BYHA website under the New to Hockey section or FAQ's.
  4. DIBS – Everyone will be required to write a $750 check for your DIBS volunteer hours at the beginning of the year parent meeting. If you complete your DIBS, the check will be shredded at the end of the year. Our goal is to have 100% participation in our volunteer/DIBS program and not have to cash any checks. Just a heads up, our DIBS amount this year is likely going to increase slightly to account for our ever evolving volunteer needs. More information will be provided on that to you soon. Our hockey family is awesome and it takes a village!
  5. Registration for goalies at the PeeWee, 12U, and Bantam level will be free. We are committed to improving the affordability of playing goalie. If you register after September 1st  you will be responsible for the $200 increase in fees.

In order to have accurate numbers to determine teams, ideally registration must be completed by September 1st. This will allow us to accurately predict the number of teams we will have playing at each level and to schedule games for those teams. A large portion of games are scheduled with opposing teams in early September. Each year we struggle as players register in October right before tryouts. This has caused situations which frustrate everyone; parents, coaches and players alike. To avoid that, anyone registering after September 1, 2024 will notice an increase in fees by $200 at all levels of play except for termites/mites/8u/6u and new to hockey. This includes goalies.

Fees for the 2024-2025 season

New to hockey - $50

Termites/Mites/8U/6U - $300

Squirts/10U - $525; After September 1st - $725

PeeWees/12U - $650; after September 1st - $850

Bantams - $700; after September 1st - $900

Jr. Gold - $850; After September 1st - $1050

When you register you will have the option to pay in full; pay a deposit with the remainder due December 15th or monthly installments ending December 15th.

We are working to increase our social media and website presence. To that end, pictures may be placed on the website of teams, players and activities around the rinks. If you do not want your child's picture on the website or in social media of BYHA, please contact Laura Eaton Carleton, BYHA president. Also, if you have a picture or video we could share on social media, please send it to a board member, our hockey director, or send a direct message on Facebook or Instagram so we can share with our hockey family!

Fall kick off is scheduled for Sunday September 29th, come for some open skating, equipment swap, prizes, good food and fun with our hockey family! More info on that to follow but save the date.

This is a season of unprecedented growth for our organization and hockey family, please know that we are hard at work to continually improve.  With this growth I am sure there will be bumps, and appreciate your understanding and feedback. If you have questions or concerns please reach out to me directly at 218-209-1495, our hockey director Dillon, any board member, or leave a suggestion in our virtual suggestion box!

We have a fantastic organization thanks to the work of all of you and most importantly, our players.  Lets make this our best season yet!

See you at the Rink!
