Bemidji Bantam AA Earns 3rd Place at George Pelawa Memorial Tournament
December 12-14, 2025
Bemidji, MN
The George Pelawa Memorial Hockey Tournament honors the memory of George Pelawa, a beloved member of the Bemidji hockey community whose passion for the sport and dedication to teamwork left a lasting impact. This annual event celebrates his legacy by bringing players, families, and fans together in the spirit of competition, camaraderie, and respect for the game he loved. It serves as a reminder of the values George embodied—hard work, sportsmanship, and community.
This year, the Bemidji Bantam AA team proudly earned 3rd place in the tournament. The team was honored to meet George’s family—his father Frank, mother Winnie, and brother Joe—who generously gifted each player a commemorative blanket as a symbol of warmth and connection to George’s legacy.

In honoring George’s legacy, we strive to play with the same heart, determination, and love for the game that he exemplified—because true greatness is measured not just in wins, but in the strength of our character and the bonds we build.
