DIBS & Volunteering
BYHA is a Volunteer Driven Organization
Families are required to complete a certain number of volunteer hours (DIBS) each year. There are also roles within BYHA that fulfill volunteer hour requirements (see table).
For the 2026-2027 season, each player needs to have 15 volunteer hours completed, up to a maximum of 2 players for a family (if there are more than 2 players registered with BYHA, the maximum number of volunteer hours the family is required to do is 30).
Volunteer hours can be fulfilled through a variety of ways. There are numerous roles within the program that offers credit (see below). Many families will fulfill their hours through the BYHA home tournament games by running the clock, completing the GameSheet scoring, or being a rink manager. The schedule of home tournaments can be found here.
To claim volunteer shifts, you will need to log in and navigate to the Volunteer section.
