DIBS & Volunteering
BYHA is a Volunteer Driven Organization
Families are required to complete a certain number of volunteer hours (DIBS) each year. There are also roles within BYHA that fulfill DIBS requirements (see table).
For the 2025-2026 season, each player needs to have 7 DIBS completed, up to a maximum of 2 players for a family (if there are more than 2 players registered with BYHA, the maximum number of DIBS the family is required to do is 14).
DIBS hours can be fulfilled through a variety of ways. There are numerous roles within the program that offers DIBS (see below). Many families will fulfill their DIBS through the BYHA home tournament games by running the clock, completing the GameSheet scoring, or being a rink manager. The schedule of home tournaments can be found here.
To claim DIBS shifts, you will need to log in and navigate to the Volunteer section.
DIBS Eligible Positions
Many roles within BYHA fulfill DIBS for up to 1 or 2 players. This includes but is not limited to:
1 Player: Travel team manager, Mite Level coaches and age reps, home tournament coordinators
2 Players: Travel team rostered coaches, various committee leads (GameSheet, Tournaments, DIBS, Registrar, etc), board members
